The Tapo C530WS is a 3K outdoor pan/tilt Wi-Fi security camera with 360° horizontal coverage, AI-based person and vehicle detection, and IP66 weatherproofing for year-round outdoor mounting.
Video quality and night vision
Recording at 2880 × 1620 resolution (3K / 5MP live view) captures more detail on faces and license plates than typical 1080p cameras. Starlight color night vision uses a built-in spotlight and sensor for full-color low-light footage instead of grainy black-and-white IR-only images.
Coverage, patrol, and AI alerts
360° horizontal and 130° vertical motion reduces blind spots around property edges and driveways. Patrol mode can cruise between custom points you set. AI detection distinguishes people, pets, and vehicles to cut leaf-and-shadow false triggers; tamper and line-crossing detection add alerts for unauthorized entry attempts.
Connectivity, storage, and audio
Connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Dual antennas are rated for up to 492ft range in open areas. Footage saves locally to microSD up to 512GB, or optionally to Tapo Care cloud storage after a 30-day free trial—local recording works without a subscription. IP66 rating covers rain, dust, and heat without an extra housing. Two-way audio uses the built-in microphone and speaker. Customizable sound and light alarms include an adjustable bright light and custom audio alerts.
Common setup questions
Local microSD recording is the default; Tapo Care cloud is optional after the trial. Ethernet is supported as an alternative to Wi-Fi. IP66 is intended for direct outdoor rain exposure in typical installations.
